Founder of The Gleason Group, Joe Gleason has over 25 years experience in crisis management, public affairs and corporate communications. The former president of a top-ten, international public relations agency, Gleason has helped guide many organizations through some of the most notable litigation crises in U.S. history including; race discrimination at Denny’s, Sunbeam for the AMA; and sexual harassment for Mitsubishi Motors.
His public affairs campaign experience in and around the nation’s capitol includes such clients as SEGA (Violence in Video Games), the American Medical Association (Patient Bill of Rights), the Consumer Data Industry Association (Privacy), the Dairy Coalition (rBST) and the Direct Marketing Association (Use Tax). Gleason has also worked in the non-profit sector for such clients as the Ford Foundation, the National Council of La Raza, the NAACP and the National Council of Churches.
He has won national and international recognition for his work including the President’s Award from the National Council of La Raza and the Best of Silver Anvil Award from the PRSA. Gleason has been a member of the Democratic Leadership Council, the corporate advisory board of NCLR, the Dean’s advisory council of political management for G.W. University and the board of advisors at Elon University’s school of communications. He began his career on Capitol Hill as a press secretary and is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
